Frequently asked questions

Is this a real qualification?
No. This is an educational tool that uses common rules of thumb. A real prequalification reviews your credit, income documentation, and assets.
What credit score do I need to qualify for a mortgage?
Conventional loans typically want 620+. FHA loans can go down to 580 (and 500 with 10% down). VA loans don't have a hard floor but most lenders want 580+.
